Twenty Twelve

So another year in the books.  Johnny and I will be kickin' it at a rock show tonight with friends and ring in the new year in style.  We're not usually New Year's folks but this year we're gonna pretend we are.

So, once again I'm going to attempt to become a better person and have a bunch of resolutions to prove it.  I will satisfy with your curiosity with my rundown.  Maybe it will help with my accountability.

In no particular order, here we go.  Here's to 2012!

1.  Lose 20 pounds.  Here we go again, I know.  I was 145 lbs when I got married and I'm 165 lbs now.  It wouldn't even be so awful if it was evenly distributed but instead it is right around my middle.  Like a life preserver.  Only not as cute.
So, it's back to the treadmill, whole grains and stability ball.  XBox Zumba, here we come.  Salads step in and my "potato juice" takes a back seat.  I'm going to make my belly my bitch this year.  Enough already!

2.  Be a better daughter, wife, friend and stepmom.  I do "okay" on most of these fronts but I want to have more patience.  More grace.  Listen more.  Judge less.
Much like Charlie Sheen, I never seem to run out of words.  Dumb stupid words.

3.  Read more.  I've always loved to read and never seem to make it a priority.
I have a wish list that I've been dying to tackle and starting next week I'm going to read nightly before bed.  I've joined a book club to boot.  Can't wait to get started on my first read "The Family Fang" by Kevin Wilson.

4.  Go to church occasionally.  Don't get all judgey on me now.  I have my personal opinions and gripes with religion but all in all I like the notion of taking some time out to say thanks and appreciate a little hope and practice a little faith.

5.  Write a book.  Not really even a good one but a book of some sort.  I certainly have enough material.  Watch me.

6.  Learn a foreign language.   Just kidding.  Why would I do that?

I have a zillion more things I could add.  Get outside more.  Eat more fruit.  Hug more folks.  Gossip less.  Hand write more cards and letters.  All of it I wish to accomplish.  We'll see how much I actually do.  I think that living a more authentic and healthy life is an inspiring and lofty goal.  I encourage you to do the same.

It won't be easy.  But it will probably be funny.  Thanks always for reading and remembering that I'm still here.

Cheers to 2012!

Ha!! Good luck on all of it. Although I just downloaded a calorie counting app to help me lose 15 lbs in 15 weeks. So, I get ya. lol.

Easiest thing to be more patient... go Cartoon Mom Zen. Ever seen those cartoon Mom's? Nothing fazes them.. its all, "Okay... well... that's interesting..." EverysoOFTEN my kids drive me to that state... I pretend its Zen.. but its really Cartoon Mom Catatonia.

I could only join a book club if I was the only one who got to pick the books!! lol

Write the book!!! I'll do a little blog about the seminar I took about how to self publish. Someday.. muahahaha
