In life, there are certain things that you never want to admit. Embarrassing behavior, silly habits or bad decisions perhaps. I've been desperately wrestling with something. Something that I don't want to admit. Something that has shaken me to my core and made me ultimately question my own sanity.
It's embarrassing and wrong. Yet I am powerless to resist its intrigue and appeal.
It's........
Lady Gaga.
I know, I know. There ought to be some sort of support group for this affliction.
Let's make one thing clear; I never wanted to like her. I adamantly resisted.
I have been somewhat outspoken in my detest for her "look at me" persona.
Yet here I sit humbly before you as her newest fan. It took awhile, but she wore me down. Here are the irrefutable facts.
1. She can sing.
2. She actually plays real instruments.
3. She actually writes her own music.
4. She can really dance.
Say what you want about her costumes and get-ups and whatnot but let's not forget that Alice Cooper, Ozzy, KISS and Marilyn Manson all did the exact same damn thing.
5. In every interview I've seen and/or read, she seems like she's a nice gal who's very down to Earth. She's not a conventional beauty. She's smart, business savvy and unique. She was born this way, y'all.
I find myself busting out the "RAWR RAWR rawr rawr rawr!" at the weirdest times. I'm belting out "You and I" in my car and I cannot sing. I'm picturing myself accepting a gold medal for ice skating every time I hear "Edge of Glory". I'm in deep, friends.
I can hear you guys deleting Girl, Corrupted out of your bookmarks right now.
I can't say that I don't blame you but remember, part of the healing and rehabilitative process is admitting that indeed you have a problem. I've done that.
Please forgive me. I need your help. Well, in a few minutes. Right after I buy every single Lady Gaga song off of iTunes. I've got a one-way ticket on to Lady Gaga's bandwagon.

Saw her in concert in April and she was really good. Not the best show I've seen, but definitely in the top 5 for sure.
Yenny,
I've been meaning to email you and will in the next few days. In the meantime, let me just say I'm glad you've come around to Lady Gaga. I saw her on 60 Minutes and it totally changed my opinion of her. She's this generations Madonna, and I remember you being a huge fan of the Material Girl back in the day. Anyhoozle, more later.
I agree with Tyge... but then again.. I usually do! haha.
Gaga IS this generations Madonna and I have the same 4 points to musicians as you do. Can they sing, can they write their own music, can they play an instrument, can they manager their careers. THAT is MY definition of a true musician. Gaga fulfills it.
Although you should see my 14 year old boy dance and sing to her music!! Hilarious! For THAT alone, I like her! haha
